Synopsis: In some forest areas of southern Tamil Nadu, wild animals such as deer and wild boars are hunted using “Avuttukai,” a country-made bomb. In the same area, Shanmugam cuts and sells forest trees with government permission.An elephant named Raju is used at Shanmugam’s timber yard to load and move the cut trees. His mahout, Chengu, takes care of Raju and works closely with him.One day, some wildlife activists visit the timber yard and secretly film Raju working and loading the trees. They send the video to the concerned government department. This creates a problem for Shanmugam. So, Shanmugam secretly plans to send Raju away from the timber yard.“THE YELLOW ELEPHANT” is the story of what happens to Raju and Chengu after this incident, and how this situation changes their lives.
